A lovely walk this morning - in shorts at last! We just went out from the hotel
to Mapleton Park, which seems to be a popular local spot - judging by the number
of cars in the car park.
We had hoped for some new species, but this butterfly and a Blue Jay were the only new
ones we could identify. This is a Canadian Tiger Swallowtail and we saw them last year
as well (we think). There were plenty of squirrels and a spider making the most of a
woodpecker hole in a tree!
After lunch we drove the short distance up to Magnetic Hill where you let your car
roll uphill (it seems)! The instructions were a bit strange, but it does looks better
filming backwards. We did turn around and go forwards as well - as you can see below.
It is not fixed, we really were in neutral letting the car roll. Kind of a weird
feeling when it is happening.
After that is has been a work day - with a bit of TLC for Mary Jane. We have noticed
a squeak when we use the clutch lately, coming from the pedal, so Rob got down there
with a can of WD40 to see if one of the bolts or springs needs a bit of lubrication.
We will let you know how it goes later. And speaking of lubrication, across the road
from our hotel is a Casino so if Hild gets her work finished we might drop in and check
out their slot machines......
