Valle og Rygnestad

Today we were going to go hiking at Hovden north of Valle, to a cabin high up on the mountains. However, we woke up to a very strong and cold wind and decided to delay to another day.

We spent the morning visiting mum and then doing some work. At lunch we packed lunch and drove to Rygnestad. It was time to check in on the animals: Hinny, cats, peacocks, chickens, rabbits...

... horse, ponies, cows, sheep, and very itchy goats. They love to be scratched. If you try to stop scratching them and walk away, they will walk in front of you to demand more attention!

The ducks seem to grow noticeably every day. They are still so funny!

We enjoyed our picnic lunch with our favourite Solo soft drink. Having said that, we needed to eat our sandwiches quickly before the goats got wind of it...

Then we could sit and enjoy the view with Systog (Bjørnar's house) in the foreground and Rygnestad Gard (Oppistog) where Hege and all the animals live.

In the afternoon we did some more work and also visited Hild's teacher from school, Gunhild, and another visit to Janet. Happily we were able to share another dinner with Hege and Eirik: Kjøttkaker (meat balls), potatoes, mushy peas, carrots, and lingonberry jam. Yum!
