Edmonton
While this day was going to be filled with work and billable hours, we did go for a morning walk.
This time it was a real urban one - like in Ottawa. We walked 4 km through the neighbourhood of Perle, which
is near to our hotel. It was a beautiful morning and much more exciting than we were expecting.
We found a couple of local parks to walk around, and amazingly we spotted two more species: a bluejay bird and a scarily big jackrabbit (hare).

And then we got into the billable hours. It was a productive day. Rob worked from a reclining position
because Hild hogged the desk. As you can see, one screen is not enough for her. |

The prize for working hard all day was to go to the famous West Edmonton Mall, which is walking distance from our hotel.
This mall seems to have it all and then some: indoor wave pool and slides, ice hockey rink...

... pirate ship, sea lion show, paddle boats...
... monuments of oil workers and figure skaters...
... a shooting range with live fire, a casino (open all the time according to stickers on the floor),
a circus, and an immigration office of all things! Oh yes - and many many many shops.

After buying a real rain jacket from Helly Hansen (gift from Hild's mum. Thank you!) we ended up back at the hotel,
with a cup of tea and custard bun from T&T supermarket.
The rest of the evening was spent catching up on emails, kicking back, and doing laundry.
