Nerdy Pages
This is some stuff Hild and Rob put together to try and pretend that all the stats they were collecting along the way were actually to some use! Every night (and often during the day at appropriate times) our position was logged on Max (the GPS) and the distance travelled was written down so that Hild could do some stats on the trip and they could work out where they were. As if they needed to know that - I could have told them and besides just knowing the GPS reference wasn't going to help them work out where they were anyway.
But, they did it and Hild has done her usual and made lots of pretty pictures in Excel so I guess I had better include them. Rob actually kept a record of things like fuel consumption and how much money he spends on me to work out both fuel consumption and cost per kilometre, but I drew the line at including that. I mean to say, a Landcruiser has to have some privacy! How would he like it if I kept a record of how much he ate every day and how much fat he is putting on?
So the following pages have a few graphs to show how far we travelled each day and plot the longitude and latitude for each overnight stop, both on a map and separately. Pretty mean feat if you ask me. Over 12,000 kilometres in 4 weeks (and about half of that on unsealed roads) with only one unscheduled stop - or should I say unplanned refusal to start!
Again, please feel free to totally ignore these pages 'cos they are really only interesting to nerds like Hild and Rob. But this wouldn't be complete without them so here goes.......
