During my 26-year postgraduate career my main work has been in the area of financial and economic modelling, statistical analysis, and database design. I have improved on existing and designed new complex financial models for mining, energy, agricultural development, and emerging industry projects. The goal is always to support management decisions. My work has also included risk analyses using Monte Carlo simulation modelling. I have conducted portfolio reviews of development projects and programs identifying elements of good practice and overall trends. Other achievements include: several refereed articles in international journals, conference papers and posters, reports and working papers; participation in government funded research projects; and production of several database applications customized for academia and business. I have also enjoyed working as an undergraduate and graduate university lecturer/teacher. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Agricultural University of Norway. Later I obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Science and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Western Australia. A majority of my research achievements have been within the frameworks of multidisciplinary and multilingual teams. I enjoy the opportunities and challenges this brings particularly to incorporate team-creativity and to bring this together to a finished product. Having studied and worked in Norway, Australia, Denmark, USA, Canada, and the UK I am bilingual in English and Norwegian (native). I am currently living in Burnham-on-Sea in the United Kingdom together with my husband, Rob Potter. |
