First a quick visit to Brussels.
It was our first time taking the Eurostar through the Chunnel... Here we are all excited and a bit nervous.
Then we saw the last bit of the UK and 20 minutes later - the first bit of France....
Around the town in Brussels: an old church we didn't write down the name of, Maneken Pis of course,
and a nice fancy covered shopping street (handy in the drizzling rain).
Around the town in Brussels: One of the gargoyles on Grand Place, Grand Place being set up for another event,
and Rob at the fountain in Parc de Bruxelles.
Per usual we stop by to say hi to the European Commission in Berlaymont... then through the arch in Jubelpark
only to find some obscure Polish exibit featuring a gigantic pipe organ fitted on the back of a truck... (say no more).
We found our end-point: a park. There was a nice bench to relax on... shame about the scary swans and other birds.
On the way home we had deserved a quick snack... a cake and a crepe... and milkshakes yum.
Then a longer than usual stay in Carbis Bay...
We went to visit Wilf in Hayle. Here is his house, the Wilf himself on his couch, and Wilf taking us for a walk on his beach.
We went to explore the Chysauster Ancient Village (at least its ruins). Here is a birds-eye view,
and what we saw from the ground, maybe a fire place and a grindstone???
While walking around we 'discovered' livingrooms, barns, bedrooms, bathrooms... well we let our
imagination run wild.
We saw everything from pretty flowers to sheer drops... and as we left we saw the road which
we can only assume would take us to the home of the Ding Dongs!?
Finally we went to see a performance at the Minack Theatre. We missed the opportunity to see the Tempest with the best backdrop ever: the sea and nothing else.
In stead we saw a restoration comedy named The Rover. Mistaken identity, drunkenness, false lovers, stolen trousers, all the elements of a
farce were to be found in this 330 year old comedy.
