Happy Birthday Hild!
February 5th is a very special day in our family. It is the day we remember the arrival of our baby sister Hild.

Adelheid, Hild (in the crib) and Kristin - 1971
Being the third child to Janet and Olav, they were no longer as diligent with the camera, and Hild does not have many baby pictures of herself. If you look carefully you will see a little face inside the crib – that is Hild. Her proud sisters as sitting watching over her (waiting for her to grow up so they can start picking on her).
She was a very cute little girl
. . . . . . with a very big smile.
Hild has never been able to sit still very long – being the active person she is, there is so much that can be done, so why waste the time?
Hild, Adelheid, and friends. Here is a time waster – play circus and train the rams to do tricks.
Or taking the rams out for some fresh air and a walk. These two handsome rams were called Greg and Diego. If you look carefully you will notice that Hild wears glasses.
Not all activities involved animals..... sometimes she played by herself like in this pictures. Time to upgrade to a larger bike, and perhaps a two-wheeler this time.

As many young girls, Hild went through a horse phase.
After a lot of work and play one needs to rest. We can only speculate as to what was in Hild's mind when she laid down to rest in this position....
Mornings are not always the best! Janet is making breakfast for the dog who is waiting impatiently.

After finishing 9th grade in Valle Hild moved to Hornnes to attend Gymnas (high school). We have no pictures from the wild (so we have heard) high school years. After high school she spent a year in Oslo together with Adelheid while she worked at Hotel Continental and took evening classes. The following year she started her university studies at the Agricultural University at Ås outside Oslo. This is where she met her price charming – a Brit who could speak Norwegian (and poor soul, who started picking up “Valle mål” (local dialect) after he met Hild). After graduation, Hild moved to Perth Western Australia to join her Rob who was already living there.
...here she is with Rob
Janet and Olav, the proud parents to three daughters had not yet experienced a real wedding. Both her older sisters chickened out and skipped the weddings, but Hild and Rob decided to do it the right way. They planned their wedding for mid summer in Norway (hoping to coincide with the two weeks of summer). They brought family and friends in from several different continents.....

A friend is making sure the beautiful bride is perfect. Bridesmaid Sophie is a little worried about the whole thing...

Here Hild is standing next to her husband Rob Potter, surrounded by her in-laws Vivienne and Richard and her parents Janet and Olav. In front; Bjarte and Sophie. 24 June 1995.

You have probably realized by now that Hild likes animals

An adult Hild in sunny Perth. Still smiling and still very cute.
She loves the mountains... a picnic with Daddy and Sue.... Grilling sausages at Grønlia.
Hild has become a very good skier, but even good skiers have the occasional run in with stationary objects....

Hild outdoors...here at the Pinnacles Park in Western Australia....
This is the Norwegian version of running barefoot through the sand - only that she is running barefoot through the snow.
When Hild had moved south and settled in Perth, Australia, she was finally able to enjoy the warmth of the sand and the Indian Ocean. Together with Rob she learn to dive. Here she is snorkling with Nina at Rottnest.

We wish our dearest sister a very Happy Birthday!!!

Hild, This is a poor attempt at doing what you have done for our birthdays over the last year, but we wanted to show you that we really appreciate you and that you mean a lot to us. Accept this rather tacky looking web greeting because it was prepared with lots of love from the picking and scanning photos in Norway to trying to get it on the web site from locations in the US and Canada. We all had a small part in making this happen. WE LOVE YOU and wish you a VERY HAPPY BIRTDAY!
Love from Mamma, Daddy, Adelheid, Tron, Gry Hege, Bjørnar, Rob, Alvaro and Kristin
